New collection sites in Pukekohe and Levin standard

Farmlands in Levin and Pukekohe are supporting the push for sustainability and environmental best practice with the opening of Agrecovery Container collection sites at these stores. Local farmers, growers, contractors and golf courses can make the most of this recycling programme at these sites which will accept eligible plastic containers on Monday to Fridays, from 8:30am to 4:30pm (Levin) and 8am to 4pm (Pukekohe). Empty triple rinsed containers, 1 – 60 litres in size, from 57 brand owners of agrichemical, biological, animal health and dairy hygiene products can be recycled for free. To celebrate the opening of three new collection sites in Northland, Agrecovery Rural Recycling is offering recyclers the chance to win a $300 reward. The promotion aims to encourage farmers, growers, contractors and golf courses to make the most of this recycling programme for 1 – 60 litre plastic containers. Recycling pays off for competition winners standard

Ten farmers and growers are $500 better off after recycling with the Agrecovery Rural Recycling Container programme during a recent promotion. The promotion encouraged recycling of plastic agrichemical, animal health and dairy hygiene containers at 70 collection sites across New Zealand. Those recycling during March and April went in the draw to win one of ten $500 vouchers to spend at the rural supplier of their choice. Ranging from Waipapa in the north to Ashburton in south, the winners show a good cross section of the primary sector are using the programme, including kiwifruit, citrus, potato and bulb growers, a vineyard, livestock farmers, a spray contractor and even a biodiesel and oilseed plant.
