Tony Wilson

General Manager

Tony oversees operations, projects, recycling trials and six team members. He has been leading the organisation since October 2020.

Most recently, Tony spent 12 years with the Ministry for Primary Industries, where he managed parts of the biosecurity system and, more recently, the food system. His biggest achievement was leading a pan-government project where he worked with customers on developing better ways to allow freight to move through the system with less government  intervention.

Prior to that, Tony managed finances for the medical and surgical departments for the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board and worked for a freight logistics business in Sydney.

Tony has a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Finance and Economics, and postgraduate diplomas in Business and Administration, and Professional Accounting and Finance. He is now studying for a Master of Business Administration.

Tony is a keen mountain-biker and surfer.

RICHARD CARROLL

Commercial Manager

Richard took up the role of Commercial Manager in March 2020, after spending most of his career in the primary sector – most recently for a wool exporting business.  Consequently, he has a real appreciation for the importance of the primary sector to the New Zealand economy, especially now, in the aftermath of the Covid-19 virus.

As a Chartered Accountant, with a degree in Management and Political Science, Richard brings his business acumen to the role and supports our activities in recycling and finding more sustainable farming practices.

As a keen traveller, he has had to revise his plans of late but is looking forward to seeing more of New Zealand.

FELICITY MITCHELL

Operations Adviser

Felicity started as Programme Coordinator in September 2019 and moved into the Operations Adviser role a year later.

Felicity makes sure that our operations are running smoothly – including liaising with our fixed sites and being the conduit between them and the drivers who come and collect all the plastic for recycling. She also provides training to site staff and runs recycling events, such as the One-Stop Shop events, where a variety of waste is collected all in one go. She also works on organising trials for recycling more farm waste.

Felicity’s interest in farming was sparked when growing up on a sheep and beef farm.  This saw her complete a Graduate Diploma in Commerce, majoring in Farm Management – after completing a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management.

With a love of travelling, Felicity completed her OE in Europe and visited parts of Africa and Asia. She gained a level 2 ski instructors’ certificate while working at the Turoa ski field. As well as skiing, she loves tennis and netball.
